Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to SafeRedact (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), an iOS application developed by [DEVELOPER NAME]. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the App.

Description of Service

SafeRedact helps you detect and hide sensitive information in images and PDF documents. The App is designed to process documents locally on your device using native Apple technologies.

SafeRedact does not operate a backend service for uploading or analyzing your documents. Features may include importing documents, manual redaction, blur or pixelation, automatic sensitive-data detection for Premium users, and exporting redacted files.

License and Intellectual Property

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use SafeRedact on compatible Apple devices for personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and applicable App Store rules.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App or any part of it, except where permitted by applicable law.

All trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights in SafeRedact remain the property of [DEVELOPER NAME].

Free and Premium Features

SafeRedact may offer both free and paid functionality.

• Free features may include importing documents, manually selecting areas to redact, blur, or pixelate, and exporting redacted documents.
• Premium features may include automatic sensitive-data detection and other advanced tools described in the App or App Store listing at the time of purchase.

Feature availability may change over time. We may add, modify, suspend, or remove features with or without notice, except where prohibited by applicable law or App Store rules.

Manual Redaction

Free users can manually select areas of a document to redact, blur, or pixelate. These edits are performed locally on your device.

Blur and pixelation are visual effects. Permanent redaction may occur when a document is exported in a flattened or rendered form, depending on the export method and file type. Different redaction methods may provide different levels of obscurity.

Automatic Sensitive Data Detection

Premium users may access automatic sensitive-data detection. This feature may attempt to identify text such as names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, identification numbers, banking information, credit card numbers, IBANs, and other potentially sensitive content.

Detection may use OCR, pattern matching, Natural Language processing, and supported on-device Apple capabilities. Automatic detection is assistive only and may miss sensitive information or flag non-sensitive content incorrectly.

The App does not send document contents to third-party AI providers such as OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, or similar external AI services for this functionality.

Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

• The documents you import, edit, export, or share using the App
• Reviewing redacted documents before sharing them with others
• Determining whether redaction is appropriate for your intended use
• Complying with applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and workplace or organizational policies
• Maintaining the security of your device and any exported copies of your documents

You retain ownership of your documents. We do not monitor, review, or control the content you process in the App.

No Legal or Professional Advice

SafeRedact is a productivity tool for document redaction. It does not provide legal, compliance, regulatory, forensic, cybersecurity, or professional advice.

Use of the App does not guarantee that a document is legally compliant, fully anonymized, suitable for disclosure, or safe to share in every context. If you need advice for a specific legal, regulatory, or business requirement, consult a qualified professional.

Purchases and Subscriptions

SafeRedact may offer:

• Monthly subscriptions
• Yearly subscriptions
• Lifetime purchases

All purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store using StoreKit. We do not directly receive or store your full payment-card information.

• Prices are displayed in the App or App Store listing at the time of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings.
• Deleting the App does not automatically cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled according to Apple’s App Store policies and applicable law.
• You may restore eligible purchases using the restore option in the App or through your Apple ID, where supported.

Apple may process purchase-related information according to Apple’s Privacy Policy and App Store terms.

Apple Standard EULA

Your use of SafeRedact is also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, where applicable:

In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple’s Standard EULA regarding App Store distribution, Apple’s Standard EULA governs to the extent required by Apple’s terms.

Permissions

The App may request access to device features only as needed for functionality you choose to use:

• Camera — to scan documents
• Photos — to import or save images when you choose
• Files — to open documents you select through Apple’s document picker

You can manage permissions in your iOS settings. Some features may not work if required permissions are not granted.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes
• Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, modify, exploit, or disrupt the App
• Interfere with the App’s operation or attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
• Use the App in a way that infringes the rights of others
• Misrepresent redacted documents as fully secure, verified, or professionally reviewed when they are not

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms or misuse the App, to the extent permitted by applicable law and App Store rules.

Exported and Shared Documents

Once you export or share a document outside SafeRedact, that copy may be stored, transmitted, or processed by other apps, cloud services, messaging platforms, or recipients you choose.

We cannot control how third parties handle exported files. You are responsible for verifying the final redacted document before sharing it and for choosing appropriate sharing methods for your needs.

Availability and Changes

We aim to keep SafeRedact available and useful, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible operation on every device or iOS version.

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time. You may need to install updates to continue using certain features.

Disclaimer of Warranties

SafeRedact is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We do not warrant that the App will detect every piece of sensitive information, that redaction will be complete or irreversible in every case, that blur or pixelation will prevent recovery in all circumstances, or that exported documents will meet your legal, regulatory, or business requirements.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, [DEVELOPER NAME] shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, documents, business, revenue, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of or inability to use SafeRedact.

This includes liability related to shared documents, missed sensitive information, incorrect detections, export errors, device failure, or actions taken based on reliance on the App.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless [DEVELOPER NAME] from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the App, your documents, your sharing of exported files, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. We may suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms or if required for legal, security, or operational reasons.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, and governing provisions — will continue to apply.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when the App changes, when new functionality is introduced, or when required for legal or regulatory reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be changed when the Terms are revised.

Continued use of the App after updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Material changes may also be communicated through the App where appropriate.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise. App Store transactions and Apple system services are handled by Apple under its applicable terms.
